The National Lottery Community Fund

Today we are celebrating our recent funding success with The National Lottery Community Fund which is supporting our 3-year programme Power Up, an ambitious community engagement programme for adults and young people to engage in creative activities that support wellbeing and help to develop a sense of collective pride in our community.

What better way to do it then to share more media of our recent attendance at the Durham Miners Gala to say a big thank you. More than 80 people, of all ages and abilities, came together at the weekend to take our unique Nordestinos Carnival Bloco out on to the streets of Durham, to share their passion for live music, folk songs, dance, celebrating our shared love of the rich cultural heritage we have in County Durham with the Crook Drift Lodge Hole in the Wall Banner flying high behind us.

We are so proud of each and every person who took part in the project, including our fabulous team of volunteers and local councillors who contributed to what was a hugely successful day, which most certainly would not have been possible without the generous support of The National Lottery Players helping us to inspire and change lives in positive ways.
